M. F. McAuliffe

Do not ask who you are

in this room

of a Monday

staring at strange signs

do not ask who you are

in this strange country

far from home

at home they are dying

of government

do not ask

Who am I

if I am here?

Day like today

in the sheltering rain

I'd have the windows open

                    'f I was at home

cave in the rain

just

listening

'stead of

this light-box

work

windows

sealed

tighter than the walls
